well the first thing to do is do what is called the key dance..

turn the ignition switch on and off 3 times within 3 seconds

leave it in the on position

the check engine light will start to flash in sequences after about 5 seconds

for examply most likely the first you will see is

flash.. pause...flash, flash that would be read as a 12

the flashes will follow a sequence showing problems with the car the final flashes will be 5 flashes,,, pause 5 flashes.. the 55 code meaning end of test

once you have those numbers either message me reply to me or call your local parts store with the numbers

Need more infor though which engine 2.5 or 3.0? is it under acceleration or decelleration? engine cold or warm?

there are 4 different tranny's for this automobile. the genuine entire fluid capacity for all 4 selection from 8.5-9.2 quarts. To properly verify trans fluid, get automobile and trans warmed up. Pull the dipstick with automobile working and in park. often, the crosshatch marks on the dipstick is comparable to approximately one quart of fluid. upload fluid heavily, considering the fact which you've gotten issues in case you overfill, and it is a soreness interior the rear to empty in case you do overfill. i might recommend a small field (8oz) of friction modifier additive to assist the chemical makeup of the fluid, or do an entire provider on the trans.

a little more information would be nice like when it is happening and at what temp. at this point it could be an ignition problem ,low fuel pressure or volume , vacuum leak , or a computer sensor malfunction.ignition i would check wires and plugs . vacuum leak you should be able to hear. fuel supply check your fuel pressure and amount of fuel. service manual should have specs for both. for computer codes most auto parts stores will chem them for you for free

any good car parts store will give you a key that you can use to get a read out from the car's black box, which in turn will tell you what sensor is acting up.It could be your air mass sensor,or the o2 sensor,or the timing chain speed sensor.
