What do you call the secondary part of the engagement ring, that sort of wraps around the solitaire? Not the wedding band, but the other piece.

It's usually called a wrap. Also a ring guard, an enhancer, or an insert.

Technically-

A wrap is a ring that has stones in it, and the stones sit on the side of the diamond "wrapping" it.

A ring guard usually refers to a plain metal band that goes on
after your engagement ring in a slightly smaller size so that the diamond doesn't slip off. It has a purpose, not for decoration.

An enhancer can be many styles, but it always has stones. The stones can be above, below, or on the sides of the diamond, or any combination of places.

An insert is a two sided band that has a space for you to set your diamond down into it. The finished look is of one ring, but with smaller stones surrounding the diamond.

It's commonly called a wrap or guard, and it's used as the wedding band in most cases, though some people do wear a third ring
