I think the greater problem is that they don't understand it. It's inconceivable that a person "called of God to convey the gospel" would so butcher the message.

I prefer not to follow any man. I take what I learn directly from scripture because God's word is truth without the mess that people make of it. As far as TV ministers well....they are human and a lot of them are not particularly honest. I think that when you put that much money with any human being you stand to have over-complications of everything. Jesus never meant salvation to be complicated, but service for the Lord can sometimes be. That is meant to tear down the sinful or fleshly you and build up the spiritual you by teaching you to rely on Him and Him alone.

I think you are confusing their Salvation message with other stuff they preach. As for salvation, they love easy converts and you cant get no simpler that to "repeat after them" then you are saved from your sins.

Salvation is really not complicated but there is no instance of the way they conduct it. For one scripture instead of searching several different ones to fit their idea of Salvation - let me make it clear and easy for you..., Read ACTS 2:38 THEN you will have a clear picture of Salvation and you don't have to write fat checks to obtain it.

MOST TV PREACHERS have one true god and that is money. They will obtain their wealth from the poverty of the poor and never lose a night's sleep.

I think that a lot of TV ministers have forgotten the lesson of Moses.

At the rock at Meribah, the Israelites were complaining about no water and so Moses went to God and asked God what to do. God told him to hit the rock and water would come forth. So what did Moses do. He struck it, not once, but two times and then told the people "Why must I do this for you"

Oops. The man who was given the ability for miracles like parting the red sea, turning a rod into a serpent and saw God not once but twice, started to think of this as HIS effort, not God's effort through him. That's when God told Moses that because he took the credit for himself and forgetting it was God's ministry, he took theh ability to cross over into the promised land away from Moses.

So, the moral of this story is, Yes, Ministers over-complicate the issue of salvation, because they start to think of it as their ability to lead people to God, or THEIR ministry and forget that it's really God doing the work through them.

When it starts to be their ministry with the egos involved, the minister usually falters. That's why televangelists often get so focused on the ministry for the importance of the ministry. They get focused on having the money to continue the ministry or putting effort into maintaining the ministry. It's always supposed to be God's work, and that they are just the servants who were blessed with certain talents.

The moral for the rest of us...think of the gifts and talents you have as on loan from God and that we are just the recipients of these gifts. It's never your ability or your power. It's about God working in you and through you.

Great question. I feel strongly that many are influenced by this world - power, money, status, etc and it confuses those who view all Christians this way.

I'm not a fan of the Crouch's and TBN. Thankfully, there are great TV ministers like David Jeremiah, Charles Stanley, Zola Levitt (passed) that bring the message of full grace in Jesus.

Actually most of the T.V. ministers teach the feel good message, and they don't share the Gospel message. They are always asking for money, and a lot of it, therefore they are misleading a great deal of people. Not only that, they are deluding themselves.

Most of those tv preachers complicate people's financial lives by their endless begging for money.

I'm a believer, but I'll tell you those multimillionaire televangelists are con artists, that live a life so extravagent, it makes people sick.

Salvation is found in Jesus, not a multimillionaire. Truth is in the bible, not a televangelist.

Please, give me lots of thumbs down!! I'm telling the truth.

They over complicate the issues to confuse people. They are only after the money of those who follow them.
