Have you ever had one of those days where you could care less about anything and everything? I played hookey from work, couldn't sleep, couldn't sit still, can't concentrate, been on and off the computer all day. Nothing holds my attention. I feel like I don't even care if I take my next breath. Last night I watched about 8 hours worth of 9/11 programming. I've suffered depression most of my life and am treated for it. This is different I've never felt this way before. Probably sound stupid but does anyone understand what I'm trying to say?

I am getting good feedback but I explained I have been treated for depression for years. I have regular med. adjustments and therapy today is just different and now I want to cry. I know there are those who would like to have what you think I have but you are not getting it I have never felt this way before. I do good deeds and volunteer. This is jus weird.

Boy, that sounds familiar. Unless you can actually sleep the depression away, it is best to go to work. I have had so many of the days you describe. I don't think watching 9/11 stuff helps. It is not uplifting in any way shape or form. And if you don't care if you take your next breath, your apt to care less about others, then feel guilty for feeling apathetic. It is a vicious insidious cycle, depression.

You say you have had it most of your life and you are treated for it, but this is different. What you are describing IS depression, I wonder what you had before? Mild depression? I'd say a medication adjustment is in order, if you are already on them, and medication needs to begin if you aren't. Take heart in knowing that people can be SO LOW, and they can come back up with the right med. It takes a while, but I am living proof. One of my depressions lasted 10 months and was resistant to all attempts at treatment, meds/therapy/prayer, until my doc finally found the right combo. Hang in there, I feel for you. Please reach out to someone who can help.

By the way you don't sound stupid and I completely understand and empathize with you. It breaks my heart that ANYONE suffers from this insidious disease we call depression. It is HELL.

Yes completly understand but the way you feeling now will be over its just for this moment in time so think about doing something positive to help someone even if you feel like crap it will make you feel better there is people with less than what you have right now ,gather up all your old clothes and take it to your local homeless sheltor and see how exited the people get just to have something you consider trash. there is always some one out there doing worst ,look worst, feel worst ,take a drive by the cemetary, your not there and dont want to be there, drive by the hospital plenty of people there your not you are here on a computer how many poepole out there wish they had a computer, in fact how many people wish they had a job. right now as we speak there are illegal aliens in the middle of a ocean on a raft trying to get here willing to die just to get .0001 percent of what we have here in the us ,we should not complain at all its just plain silly, depressiuon is a medical condition, you know what it is dont let it get you down get up and do something for the next person the world is not all about you! Im telling you this from the bottom of my heart because I went through it too since the age of five when i wrote my first suicide letter ,I look back and wish i would have had a revolation sooner before my whole child hood and teenage years were spent sad and alone. I thought the world revolved around me but its not about us its about doing for the person who needs you and what goes around comes around. we control are own life what we put out is what we get out of life.~ crystal email-crystalpasurvey@hotmail.com on msn messanger if you want to chat im 27, female, married with four kids which i home school and am a full time student medical assistant.

If you have not been checked out for high insulin or low blood sugar as a possible cause of your depression, you may want to check out www.hufa.org - especially the symptoms link.

If it is a blood sugar imbalance causing your problem, a change of diet can help.
