I an looking to buy a new car. I would like to know which car people perfer more, the Fusion or the 500. To the people that think ford sucks...please I don't need your negitive comments. I have a Saturen Ion now but I have a family member that can give me the ford discount, that is why I am looking at Fords.

I would just like to add that have a 7 month old still in a rear facing carseat. So I did a car that has a "bigger" backseat to fit a carseat. That is one reason why I am looking for a different car, the Ion has a small backseat.

I dont know what your budget is but the 2007 Fusion would be offering all wheel drive in case you need it. As for power, the Fusion is more powerful if you get it with the V6. If you're into the "it" factor, the Fusion is definitely the more hip car to own. Yes it's less roomy but it handles better and less of a fuss to drive. It's based on the Mazda 6 platform so the handling performance is better than the 500. SO if you asked me I would say Fusion unless the 500 has better use for you. If you can make a few compromises....then Fusion. Tell us what you picked!

The Fusion is a really good car. I have one and I love it. It drives real nice and it has a lot of good features to it. I say just go test drive the Fusion against the 500 and pick the one you like the best. I guess I would say that the 500 is more for older people as in 60 and up and the Fusion is more for younger couples as in 25-50.

Fusion does not offer all wheel drive like the 500. The 500 was a weak attempt to take sales from the Chrysler 300. Fusion is mid size and 500 almost full size. Just my.02. Ford quality has really gone up with Mazda Volvo and Jaguar. Safety of the 500 car is really better than Fusion. Either way paying out a new car get all the options you can afford that makes the car more valuable when you sell. And really won't raise your payments much. Year end sales time deal like a "Arab rug dealer" You throw in 4 wheel drive "I give you camel"

I like Fords, I have had an escort and I am very happy with it. If you need more space, 500, if you like a stylish car, the Fusion. They are both very good and in fact the 500 fwd is recommended by Consumer Reports.
Get a good deal and enjoy your car.
By the way, the worst car I ever had was a used Civic, and I don't think all Civics are bad, I had bad luck (never buy for a "friend")
