After 9/11 I heard someone read a passage in Revelation to draw a parallel. Clearly 9/11 is not the event predicted in Revelation 18:9-10 though it sounds similar. The predicted events in Revelation relate to the Great Tribulation judgment which is yet future. This can be easily seen by observing that many other associated events described in Revelation have not taken place. There are cases where you can see an earlier parallel to a future prophesy (Antiochus Epiphanes and the Beast in Daniel), but this 9/11 thing would be a bit of a stretch.

We are living in the age of grace, there are no prophecies being fulfilled today. The Bible tells us that the Nation of Israel has been blinded until the time of the gentiles is over. Then God will fulfill all the prophecies made about a coming tribulation period and a coming kingdom. Romans 11: 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Read the books of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Revelation. In essence the description of the world of today is predicted in prophesy. Although 9/11 is not predicted directly the condition of modern day war and rumors of war and the wickedness of the world is clearly predicted as well as some pretty good descriptions of modern day war machines. ex:Rev.9:7-9 describes helicopters as locusts with breastplates of iron and the sound of their wings were like the sound of chariots and their horses running to battle.

Probably not. But it was interesting to me that I "just happened" to be reading Isaiah, Chapter 23 that day. See verses 6-13 in particular.
