How many times a week do you have sex if you dont live together, and have been dating 6yrs or more. I keep hearing 2-3 times a week, but we only sleep in the same bed with each other 2xweek which lowers our frequency. (Our average is 1-2xweek of sex) We see each other 4-5 nights a week, but just enough time to have dinner together and then its already time to leave. I know we could do it in this time frame but it would be like just meeting up for our sex, what about talking and eating and watching tv etc. I keep saying to my boyfriend we cant compare outr relationship with others because if you dont go to bed together the chances are less, RIGHT?

Weve been dating for 5 years, engaged and just moved out on our own to. On average our average is once a week. Keeping in mind the laundry, dishes, garbage, cats, cleaning, work and sleeping eating showering chores shopping etc.....
Once a week is pretty dern good. Sometimes it varies of course. But as the years go by and responablities pile up, sex becomes less important, and living, compromising, and being a couple. Its best to always be with your best friend, cause when the sex dies, whats left is true friendship.

Actually, the two of you probably don't spend less time together than many married couples. I think that the amount of times you have sex is very personal, and if the two of you don't agree on how often, then there's a problem. It sounds to me like he wants sex more, and you may feel like doing so is more or less a sexual relationship than a 'relationship'. Which is it anyways? 6 years is a loooong time to be in the situation you're in. Could it be that it's beginning to strain a bit? Perhaps you feel like his sex partner at this point and not much else, and are trying to grasp at any bit of 'quality (non-sexual) time you can get. Good luck!

You know it feels that way after a while but don't let it get you down,my mate and i just talked about the same thing a few days ago.Even though we see each other like the two of you do,we agreed that having sex can wait but we seem to eat more in the bed(tee hee) Remember your only going to get what you put into your relationship and there are always times when your love and love making is tested. Just hang in there it WILL get better.

Well, we have it about 3 times a week but we live together.....and who cares how many times we have it if you are having it 3 times a month and you are happy with this then everyone else does not matter........be happy that you have each other and that you don't feel you have to have sex to be in the relationship.....

I was with someone just as long and we didn't live together. We had it once or twice a week after this point. But sometimes he complained. And sometimes it was only every other week once or twice. Maybe I can look back now and see why he complained. But sometimes people are tired. And if you see them after a long week of work this can explain it
