I think that talk about nukes is nothing until we get rid of ours first to set and example. Opinions?

You at least can feel safe then . or maybe we should get rid of what we have and arm or chilren and teach them to fight instead. I mean i am 52 but I happen to remember going thru threats of nuke attacks when i was in school like for fire drills . we went to a safe area and sat down . In case of in coming nukes. And that was in grade schools across the country. See we didnt have or need to be babied back then we did what we were told. And went on with life. You obviously don't understand enemies. If you are weaker than an enemy, that enemy will take advantage. It is only because the United States finally has some standards it follows that we do not do that to other countries. In the past, we took advantage of American Indians as well as other people we thought we could control. Today, we set examples, but not of stupidity. Before you condemn the United States, you should look at the history of enemy nations. Do they have a history of peace? Do they have a history of telling the truth? Do they have a history of trustworthiness? Certain people's history is such that we cannot trust them. We are in an undeclared war that is stalemated. We don't want to fight, AND we have to be ready to fight. We never know where the next attack will come from or from whom. Even allies can switch sides. That is a fact all nations face. That is why it is so hard to get anyone to put down his weapon.

The chances are higher in this world that once the Yanks lose their nukes their enemies will nuke the USA, because now that no one's gonna irradiate them they can do pretty much whatever they wish.

How sure are you that the world (or more specifically the crazy despots like Ahmedjinad and Kim Jong ill and the terrorists) will follow the Yank's example?

You first have to cosider the world we live in. Do you honestly think if we rid ourselves of our nuclear capabilities that everybody would just drop and run on their nuclear programs? I think they would hurry up and send a few of their prototypes our way thinking we are weak. Some of our enemies out there aren't exactly the type of people you can reason with and any weakening of our military stance would be perceived as a chance to pounce on...much like a lion after a wounded animal!!!
