It was 33,330 feet! A flight attendant fell that far when the plane she was in blew up over Czechoslovakia. Broke both legs.

There was a case in WW II where a soldier's parachute failed to open and he fell 18 000 ft into 1 m deep snow. Broke a leg and a rib from memory.

After that it's academic because the human body reaches terminal velocity in a few seconds and doesn't go any faster.

I read someplace of a case where the "record holder" is a woman had fallen from a little over 33,000 feet and although badly injured, had survived.
From the same place, there was mention of a flight sergeant who had fallen from 16,000 to 18,000 feet and landed UNINJURED!!

There's a couple of people... One fell out of an airplane flying high, and survived. Another went sky diving, and jumped out, and their parachute didn't work, and of course, fell down to the ground, but did not recieve a broken bone in his body, and survived. These incidents are VERY rare though, I wouldn't try it at home ;)
