I would want to measure emotional as well as intellectual intelligence. There are a lot of people out there who score high on IQ tests who are emotionally immature. Then there are those who have no common sense. They can do astronomical calculations, but can't manage their lives. I think that a good measure of intelligence is how well a person is able to function in society as far as career, home, family, and all of that go. There's no point being the smartest person in your school if you end up living in a box, and that does happen.

IQ is a good start. However, IQ is a measure of how easily or how well someone learns. A person with an IQ of 130 who just coasts through midlevel classes may be less 'intelligent' than a person with a 115 IQ who works hard and studies. That 115 person is more likely to 'make it' in the world as well.

Generally, by talking to them in the environment they are adapted to.
This is the problem with our education system: the Powers That Be think they can quantify intelligence of both students and teachers, when the intelligence of our species is more important, and that requires a flow of information and intent that can only be subjective to the circumstances.
For example, you can get the most intelligently tested, logical genius and bring them out to the farm with animals, crops, soils, and weather, and they will look like an idiot after a year.
Intelligence is really the adaptability and Net Creativity (future usefulness minus consumption) of an individual to that individual's environment.

Why didn't you include a spelling test? Or the judgement to use a spell checker? Sorry, just joking. Intelligence is the ability to find the easiest and most effective way, in cost, time and effort, of doing any given thing. Whatever.

Just the way a person speaks, writes and functions on an average basis. Some people are smart when it comes to the real world and functioning in society, and others have alot of book smarts.

My definition of intelligence is the ability to adjust and to see connections (corelations and causations). Emotional self awareness is pretty high up there to; A person who knows what to feel at what situation.

i was a psychology major in college. we used many to the standard IQ tests available in our courses. (stanford-binet, weschler, slosson, etc.).
vocabulary is considered the single best indicator of intelligence levels.
