Everything from rock to rap to reggae to r&b ...
Damien Marley, Bob Marley, Evanescence (Fallen album), Kelis (especially "Get Along With You"), My Chemical Romance, 311, Alicia Keys, Aaliyah, Beenie Man, T.O.K., Cham, and some chinese songs ... Dao Lang, Elva, etc. Almost any type or form of music is comforting to me when I'm depressed.

for me it depends on the type of depressed I am. Like if it's an angry type of depression I go for Cold or Stained. If it's just boohoo I am so sad I will listen to some of my EBM music.

"Everything Means Nothing To Me" by Elliott Smith
"Last Goodbye" by Jeff Buckley
"Pink Moon" by Nick Drake
"Mad World" by Gary Jules
"All Along the Watchtower" by Bob Dylan (Dave Matthews, also)
"Static on the High Desert" by Oranger
"Gloomy Sunday" by Billie Holiday
"Imaginary Love" by Rufus Wainwright
"Yes, The River Knows" by The Doors
"The Drugs Don't Work" by The Verve
Some are obscure, but I find them helpful.
