My Ipod doesn't shut down anymore when I press play/stop anymore. Is it anything that I need to change in the settings or it simply broke?

Have you tried checking for updates from the site to make sure your ipod is up to date? If you are up to date I don't know what to say but check the support chat rooms on the apple site for similar problems with your model of ipod. If you can't find help there if you live in or near a city with an apple store you could try taking it to the store and talk to someone at the genius bar.
