I have Bi-poler with pychosis.. I take depokote and serquile (how ever you spell it) I use to wanna hurt my self all the time and not do anything just lay in bed and sleep. But I know have a 17 month old son who makes me so happy. Yeah the med works, but having my son has changed my life so much. Before I had got pregnant from my teen years till I was 18 I was in and out of the nut ward for being so depressed I over doesed.. had my stomach pumed and everything Its very hard when you are depressed you jus feel like giving up. But being around people you love helps and getting out of the house.. enjoying life. Even now I jus take it day by day but when ever I start to feel down all I have to do is look at my son's beautiful face and thank god for him being here with me. Never Ever Give up No Matter What The sistuation Is.

I have in the past year and a half been in a major depression. I have after taking several different anti-depressants found two that are helping me Paxil and Ativan. talking with your doctor if you have an understanding one really helps. good luck to you and whatever you do get help for depression does not go away without some sort of treatment.

I have had off and on depression/anxiety for over 10 years. I take effexor for it and ativan when I have a panic attack. Sometimes I just feel sad and stay in bed for to long and I dont want to do anything. It last for a few days at a time but luckily it happens only once a month. (not a period thing though) I get agrophobic alot. :(

Meds helped me mostly with the depression. I used to suffer with mild depression and then when I went on accutane, it became major clinical depression, so in my case meds have helped immensely. HTH.

I get really depressed frequently. I try and forgive those who take advantage of me (because I must be perceived as weak) and that helps. Pretty depressing, isn't it? Maybe I should look and act tougher? Oh yea, this is about you. Sorry.

For me I havent gotten to a point of getting by with the diagnoses of bipolar and borderline personality disorder its very hard to get over the depression point of it all. I try each day just to push myself a little furture each day. It is hard and I have been fighting it for over 18yrs.

You don't "get by",that is to say, without help, professional help. You go to a therapist, they help you, then while they are helping you, they recommend a mild anti-depressant , but your Doctor prescribes it. I was on Zoloft, then Paxil. Sure makes a difference, uh... that is to say, for those who really need it. Good Luck!
