yes... it hardens, then things happen with your grease trap and you'll have problems later. soak it up with a paper towel and throw it out.

Is the house on sewer or septic? It's a problem for the pipes either way, but the grease (hopefully) stays in the septic tank in the " scum layer" until it's pumped out. The faster non-dissolvable things accumulate in the tank, the sooner it needs to be pumped. Problem is, most people don't pump the tank often enough anyway (every 3 to 5 years) or check the sludge depth in the tank (annually)
Either way, no to grease in the drain. Hot water just carries it further down the pipe before it starts to stick the walls.

Yes, it's bad. I actually saw a show on this. More surprising ... I watched it. The grease can get into the city's pipes and cause bigger problems.
My mom actually kept a glass jar for capturing such excess cooking fat. As you probably know, when the fat cools it hardens. The jar was pretty gross looking, but did the job. When it was full, she'd toss it in the garbage.

Most emphatically, YES! Grease clogs drains which in turn results in hefty plumbing bills. Pour the grease into a can (perhaps one that used to hold veggies) and stop it up (sop it up) with a paper towel.

No, I do it all the time. Just make sure you have the hot water running and let it run for about 3 minutes after the grease goes down. Then pour a cap full of Dawn Dish washing Liquid down the drain and run hot water down again for about and minute

Yes, it's always bad to pour fat down the sink -- it clogs up the drain.

In my family, we usually don't pour the fat or grease from anything down the drain. It can solidify in the drain and cause a clog. You should put the fat into a container (a can or cup that can be thrown away) and wait for the grease to harden (it should be like gelatin, no liquid). Then,. throw the hardened grease away.

I usually run very hot water and wash it down the sink while running the garbage disposal. After all the grease is gone from the tray, I let the water run for about another 20 seconds. I have never had any problems.

You should wipe it off into the trash first, but the George Forman grill doesnt really collect that much grease, so it probably wouldnt hurt. Pour soap with it to hopefully disolve it, if you do. You just dont want the grease to build up on your pipes.

Of course. Same way you wouldn't pour any other excess fat down the drain. It can harden and clog your drain, and really screw things up.
