It is probably that her anal gland needs to be expressed. My chihuahua had the same thing. If you look at the anus, one side of it will appear swollen. That's the gland. When it's expressed, a clear smelly fluid comes out. I took mine to the vet since it seemed to be so swollen and impacted. When dogs rub their butts on the ground, they are trying to express their anal glands. It's kinda gross so don't let them do it on your bed or carpet! Most groomers will express the dog's glands as a part of the grooming process.

When was the last time your had her anal glands emptied? Although most dogs that have anal glands keep them emptied automatically, however sometimes that fluid backs up and is not excreted like it should be, when the dog has a bowel movement.

When that happens, a human needs to manually interfere and manually empty these glands. There are two glands, one on each side of the anus.

If you have never done this before for your dog, then allow me to suggest that you contact a knowledgeable groomer with experience in emptying anal glands or speak with your vet or one of the vet techs at the vets office. You can be trained how to empty these glands for you dog, it is a very quick process and does require that the back end of te dog be thoroughly washed with dog shampoo as this liquid has a very strong odor.

She will start to rub her tush across floor surfaces, you want to get those glands emptied asap because that odor is difficult to get out of carpets and clothing.

She probably has impacted anal glands. The vet will need to express it. You can do it at home but it is truly not worth it when you can have the vet do it. Good luck. My mother in law has pugs and they are sweeties.

The vet and some groomers know how to smush the butthole to get that stinky fluid out. If she starts dragging her hind end on the ground that is a sign she needs her stinky gland emptied. My pomeranian used to get that, and my mom's pom gets his gland emptied every time he gets groomed. You really don't want that stuff to get on your furniture because it will never come out. It will stink forever!

Impacted anal glands. Especially problematic in little dogs. Get a cotton ball hold it over her anal opening and squeeze around the anus. If you cannot bring yourself to do this take her to a vet.

sounds like her anal glands need to be cleaned, a vet or even the groomer can do it, I think you could do it ,but not sure how, they are glands right inside the anal area.
best to check with groomer or vet.
