I have 2 indoor dogs, and 5 indoor cats, and the fleas have gotten out of control this year. I use frontline spray on the animals, and have flea bombed the house recently, and still can't seem to get rid of them. I am about ready to oust them all (Not really, but this is driving me crazy, feel like I am at war!) Have any of you used a product that works extremely well? Thanks for your help !

Don't buy anything over the counter like Hartz brand or anything like that. Use Revolution or Frontline Plus. those work the best and they work for a month, But you will need to treat your home as well with some sort of spray. Mycodex has an environmental spray that lasts for over 200 days to control the environment with one spray. Also be sure to vacuum prior to spraying and throw out the bag right away and wash as much stuff as you can in hot water(even toys). Usually two months of revolution or fronline plus with the help of vacuuming and spraying will get rid of them.

No. 1 is hire an exterminator. Bombs do not work when the infestation gets out of hand as yours has. You will spend far more in products like bombs and sprays when one visit from Orkin should take care of the house. For the animals, call your vet and buy whatever they recommend. Finally, I periodically use a flea comb on my animals (4 dogs, 2 cats) just to be sure the medications are working (my dogs are on Sentinal, a monthly pill, and my cats use Revolution, a monthly topical). Fleas cause worms and bite humans and you need to get rid of them for the health of you and your pets. Good luck!

The best way to control fleas over your pets( dogs and cats) is the spot on or spray form of application, the medication is called fipronil( one brand is Frontline, one of the most popular). Both ways last a month in summer, 1,5 to2 tomonths in winter, when flies decrease their number. For the environment( floors, carpets, etc) you can use any water solubleproduct that contains
organphosphates(i.e: Ecthol), always being careful the animals do not get in touch with it, because it ´s toxicity.

Oh my goodness, DO NOT use Borax around your pets! It's POISON!You need to keep your house at less than 84 degrees (flea hatching temp), vacuum thoroughly everyday and toss the vacuum bag when done, use flea spray or powder on the pets and bedding, wash the pets frequently ,and you can try garlic pills for pets.I had the same problem some years ago, but it halted with these methods.

You might find this funny. But it was a remedy that my grandma used and past down to me, it does work. Pour a cup of boiling water over a sliced lemon. Include the lemon skin, scored to release more citrus oil. Let this mixture soak overnight then this can be sponged on pet or put in spray bottle. If you spray it don't forget to get under furniture and around baseboards.

Add brewer's yeast and garlic, or apple cider vinegar, to your pets' food. However, it is not advisable to use raw garlic as a food supplement for cats.

Hi, I only use the product called "Advantage" by Bayer.. there is one for dogs and one for cats, this works extremely well, almost like magic - I will never use anything else, especially since I almost killed my cat once with one of those cheaper over-the-counter brands, but that's a whole other story *s*... I trust "Advantage". Hope this helps.

This is what you can do....buy 20 mule borox in the laundry section. Sprinkle the powder on your floors, anywhere you have fleas and let it sit for a couple of days. (no vacuuming for at least two days)

It dries out their shells and they die really fast. Then make sure you vacuum every day, twice a day if possible, and throw out the bag after you vacuum every day.

Keep up with the frontline. It does work...but it doesn't kill them all.

I wash my animals in dawn detergent let it sit for a few min works great but you may have to do it a few times to get rid of them all. go to a feed store they have powders you sprinkle on your carpet but you cant let your animals on the carpet until you vaccum it this will kill the eggs that a fogger doesnt reach just ask the sales person also if you want to kill the fleas on your animals real fast get capstar from your vet it works instantly but dont do it until your house is free of fleas becuz capstar kills them but doesnt keep them off after cap star spray with frontline monthly
