Considering that I have the mathematical skills of a lobotomized turnip, boy, can I relate to this! Prayer may not be legal in school any more, but that never stopped me from begging, "Pleeeeaaaase, God, don't let her call on me! Please let the bell have a hemorrhage or something and ring sooner than it's supposed to. PLEAAAASE!!!!"
Did it ever work? Not. . .one. . .blessed. . .time.
There I stood at the blackboard, knees shaking, piece of chalk clutched in bloodless fingers, mind a complete blank. And all around me was the sound of people snickering under their breath.
It's a wonder I'm not an atheist today.

Yes, I'm sure everyone has experienced that kind of embarassment at one time. My question is, does this teacher call on people randomly all the time, or only when he/she is trying to punish someone he/she thinks is not paying attention? The "always random" teacher likes that style, and is fair to everyone; everyone has a chance to get the answer or be embarassed. But the "pick on you" teacher is trying to teach you a lesson...better pay attention, dammit, or I'll embarass you. You can't win with either type. So, try to pay attention, or at least look like you are.

I don't think I ever had a teacher that did that in class...most of the time we would work problems together on the bored, and if your's was wrong, it was no big deal, because everyone was wrong at some point in time.

The bible says in various places that God does hate. no longer basically hating the sin, it also says He hates the sinner (Psalm 5, Psalm 11, Romans 8). possibly you need to objective interpreting it. even as Jesus chased people out of the temple with a whip (two times) i might want to assert this replaced into an expression of His hatred of sin and the sinners who were making His homestead a house of thieves.
