Eek, I'm a female Navy Reservist, with a primarily AF background (Civil Air Patrol, ROTC in college). There's definite ups and downs to both. Personally, I like the Navy better, but not b/c of their treatment of women.
AF has lower Physical Training standards and a shorter (enlisted) Basic Training and an overall more relaxed atmosphere.
The Navy is more traditional, which CAN create an atmosphere that is more open to sexual harassment (Tailhook scandal) and some of the traditions CAN become that (like shellbacking). However, I personally have not experienced any harassment whatsoever, and I enjoy the Navy traditions!

Navy. Use birth control.
You can advance faster in the Navy than in the Air Force. Do whatever you can to be an officer: Pilot, Nurse, Doctor, Computer geek, whatever. If you start out enlisted, get right on the ball and pursue officer schools, college classes, etc. Don't get bogged down in the games and parties and wasted children who spend their time complaining and blowing their paychecks.
Save as much money as you can.
P.S. Did you know the Navy has a bigger air force than the Air Force?

Air Force and Navy are force shaping right now, the most need is in the army and marines if you definately want a spot in the military. Good Luck!

Women can goin any branch of the military....not just Air Force and Navy.

depends on what you got on your asvab..........jobs are by far MUCH nicer for females in the air force look at both web sites and see what I mean.

well i root for both, my dad is retired Airforce and my Husband is currently serving in the Navy, if you are looking into wanting to travel around and visit differnt countries I say go Navy .
