"Sayings" ? Well, we've heard from several readers of the various branches of service regarding their enlistment Sales-pitches. I fell for "Not just a Job, but an Adventure", and served for 15 yrs.
I caught someone mentioning the Coast Guards MOTTO: Semper Paratus (Always Ready) Also their Official Marching Song.
There is no official motto for the U.S. Navy. "Non sibi sed patriae" (Not self but country) is often cited as the Navy's motto, however.
The Navy Hymn is "Anchor's Away"
Also remember that the United States Marines are a part of the DEPARTMENT of the Navy. Their Motto is of course "Semper Fidelis" (Always Faithful) And the Marine Corps Hymn is "From the Halls of Montezuma
The US Army's Motto is "This We'll Defend", and their song is "The Army Goes Rolling Along".
GO NAVY !! BEAT ARMY !!
