I can't view videos online with Windows Media player?

I am having trouble viewing any videos or audio online (such as cnn.com) that use Windows Media player in the browser (I've tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox). Videos play fine if they are on my computer's hard drive and I use Windows Media player. Also, videos play in my browser if the file format uses Quicktime. I am running Windows XP Professional and Windows Media Player 10, both with all of the latest updates. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
