At my house, the proteins that I keep in stock are:
beef (lean cut, flank steak or organic only),
pork (lean cut),
chicken,
shrimp,
eggs,
tofu,
tunafish (chunk light in water only -- least mercury),
hot dogs (Hebrew National only -- kosher quality),
bacon (reduced fat),
peanut butter (reduced fat),
cheese (Jarlsberg and Swiss only),
beans (red kidney and pink only),
nuts (healthy snack -- almonds, walnuts, pecans, peanuts).

Chicken is the highest coming in at about 40 grams per breast. Cottage cheese has 14 grams per half cup.
