if there is a house on fire and the father knows the children are inside and he calls them out but they do not come. Yet, if he says "Children, i have candy for you, but you must come outside to get it" and they come running... would you consider the father lying because he wanted to save his children's lives?

First of all, if the father told those kids that the house was on fire, they would come out, unless they were insane.

However, if there was a dangerous situation where the kids did not believe him, he would have done the right thing, and God would forgive him.

The father lied to get the children saved and he did a good thing. Had he not made this offer the children could have died in there. I would like to know why the children refused at first. You did not provide good details. So why did he have to lie to get them out is unknown and why did he not go in there and get them out. It seems nothing was in his way to go get them, being that they were able to come out on there own. Now the part of him lying, it is obvious that he did.

It has been said that a man must go through learning to drive a car and taking and examination before he is let loose on the road, but any fool can be your father.

If the kids can find their way out of the fire why in hell cant the father go in and get them out?

Yes, it is a lie. But when the choice is between one wrong and another, you must choose the least wrong. Allowing his children to be burned up is certainly more wrong than lying to them about candy. And who knows, maybe the firefighters will have some on thier truck to appease the disappointed kids.

Wouldn't the children be running out of the house since it is on fire, and wouldn't the father run to save his children? Anyways yeah, he's lying.

A lie is a lie. That's why it's a bad idea to live your life by the Bible. Everything is black and white in the Bible but in reality there are grey areas. Sometimes lying can be justified.

How come so many people are having a hard time understanding your question?

Lying is lying and according to Christianity he committed a sin and will go to hell (this religion is all about the conditional love of a supreme being - if you don't meet his conditions, He won't consider you to be worthy of anything worthwhile). According to reason however, he is a good man and will feel happy for saving someones life.

yes its a lie but its called a white lie . its a little lie told to protect or help a person. that doesn't make it right though. here's a question for you, why wouldn't the man just tell his kids there was a fire?

God is calling now, He calls us through Jesus Christ, to safety from our sin. The house is indeed burning but, we are worth a Son to God and He's not lying.
