About 75 miles. Rode in the MS Ride in northern Virginia through Leesburg/Middleburg/Purcellville. Started about 10 in the morning and finished around 5 p.m. It was for a good cause, but I was certainly sore at the end, especially my bum.

My longest was a 100 mile trip from Redwood City, CA to Tracy, across the Antioch bridge, and back (with a BART ride on the way back to get across the Bay to San Francisco.) This was a pure impulse ride that was initially just an attempt to explore the East Bay that got a little out of hand. The ride from Livermore to Tracy through the windmills was great experience - especially with a tail-wind. Also, riding down El Camino from San Francisco to Redwood city at midnight is a much nicer experience than the middle of the day.

For a continuous ride, a roundabout trip from Redwood City to the Ocean was my longest at about 50 miles. The long workout up the hills was great, followed by a quick trip down and a beautiful trip through the rolling hills to the coast. And it was topped off by some Pad Thai leftover at work. Can't beat that!

A little ride i like to call the Tour de France. Its only about 3000 km. Just kidding. I am a cyclist but not that hardcore, yet. My longest was a 4.5 hour ride early in the summer. We covered about 80 miles. It was a loop ride so we really didn't go anywhere. I liked drafting behind the stronger riders. What i didn't like, the wickedest sunburn anyone will ever see. My jersey came up just a bit above my shorts, so it left about a two inch band of exposed skin. I promise, there is still a difference in skin tone back there.

From Echo Park, the East Silverlake area of East Hollywood, CA, to The Santa Monica Beach a 'few years ago'. About 14 miles! I was 14 - 15 years old and a few buddies and I would roast on the beach trying to impress the ladies and catch some waves. We, or I made the trip, like, 8 times, through traffic and heat until we got there. And home. Sometimes it was the ONLY way to get there. first signs of independence.

196 miles fully loaded for touring, from Seattle to an area outside of Westport, Washington.
Took me about 13-14 hours with my riding partner suffering 1 near catastrophic fall, but he wasn't injured and I was able to field repair his bike well enough to keep us moving. We did this just to say HI and visit a friend of ours for 2 days. Then, we did the same trip in reverse! Each of our bikes weighed in at about 45-50 lbs at the beginning of each leg of the journey. The return trip only took about 12 hours because the route was slightly more forgiving on the way back.

I guess, in my younger years about 110 miles in one day. This was not in a racing speed as I always like to look at the countryside, or stop at a store for refreshment. The longest in the saddle would be 50 miles !

One trip in my youth was over 100 miles in one day fully loaded with camping gear.
In this life, 30 years later, I just rode about 80 miles in Vancouver to see the city as much as I could in 1 day. Never had a better trip in my life. I rode most of the bridges, visited many neighborhoods met a lot of cool people. I had to do most of it all over the next day as I forgot my camera that morning. I wore out my BIL's bike! Mine was 3000 miles away back home!

I grew up with parents who were avid cyclists. My personal best is going from Midland Mi, to Flint Mi, a 7 hour trip by bike, which is quite a bit for a 7 year old.

My parents, while together, biked for 6 weeks across europe, and after their divorce, my mother and her new husband biked from London England to Jerusalem, Isreal. See the references for information. Here is an excerpt from the page. This is before they left for the trip, but they did complete it:

PEACE CYCLE: Patricia and Bernhard Odernheimer, retired residents of rural Manistee County, are on their third trip to Israel/Palestine, this time by bicycle. Joining a group called The Peace Cycle, they will ride from London to Jerusalem, over 2,000 miles across Europe.
On August 14 in Hyde Park, the Odernheimers will join dozens of people from all faiths and backgrounds on a journey to raise awareness for the plight of the Palestinian people and for peace in the region. Peace Cycle riders will wear t-shirts which say: “End the cycle of violence.“
Patricia and Bernhard have scrambled to obtain their pledge of $8,000 for the six-week trip. They hope to bike up to 80 miles a day. Recalling their memories of extended mountain hiking in Europe and their bike trip from New York City to Michigan in l996, the Odernheimers feel the Peace Cycle will be the biggest physical challenge of their lives.

Never have gone on a bike trip but the longest ride I've ever done is 34 miles. Not too impressive, I know, but it's always fun for me.
