I want to wrestle in the 189 weight class, but I'm only 175. I've been lifting weights 3-4 times a week for a while now and I take a protein shake after each workout, but I have not gained too much weight. Anyone have any suggestions of how to gain around 10 pounds of muscle mass?

Protein shakes are a low calorie protein source, you need more calories along with your protein intake preferably from complex carbohydrates. You need to consume more calories than burned and since muscle naturally burns more you need to eat a lot to bulk up.

I've heard that a way to gain weight without throwing your metabolism out of whack is substituting ice cream where you would normally have milk. You still get the calcium...just in a more glorified state.

Not sure if this would help with muscle mass, though.

EAT! I think you must have to eat alot of proteins but also make sure you get some carbs, Dr Atkins says if you eat only proteins and no carbs yourll loose weight. So take care not to follow his diet. If you look at what sportsmen eat its all healthy stuff but a good mixture.

reduce stress, exercise less and eat more other than shakes there are other good nutritional foods out there to build up muscles, try some until you reach your goal.. then exercise as usual to have a little extra to work with.

If you eat sweet bread,chocolate, drink pops, and all products with sugar,you will get pounds you really want.It is a warranty. Also you can eat meat,rice,etc.Good luck.
