so how can i tell if i'm in love or lust?

Hi..
"Lust", is usually associated with sexual desire.. and often with hormonal arousal... Love does not depend on either... Lust is something selfish you do, that has no interest in what the object of lust wants, needs, desires...

"Real love", in my book is : a commitment to do what is best for the person I love, even if it costs me to do it, even if I don't "feel" like it at the time, and even if I never get anything in return... I love my father and my friends, but I do not lust after them... I can love my spouse(which I dont have at the moment) .. even when I experience no hint of lust.... I believe that some lust is a good thing between husband and wife, but is only destructive in other relationships : it is almost impossible to "build" a meaningful relationship.. But lust is detached, while love is attached... ;)

I will take lust over love any day. Love is just long term lust. Lust is physical, love is emotional and physical.

Lust is just sexually tension that you feel for that person you're lusting over. Love is real feelings and emotions. No lust isn't bad if you're with the right person

When you are in love....you really won't have to ask yourself if that's what you're feeling. You'll just know. Lust is when you could honestly say that all you want to do is have sex with that person, but you know you could walk away afterwards with no emotional attachment to that person. When you are in love, nothing else matters but that person...and your love for them.

love can mean any love that you are supposed to have for everyone on the earth...and God too. it means that basically you'd give your life for them, you care for them in the strongest of ways. Lust, however, is a sin...it is felt for {HOPEFULLY!} one person at a time...it basically means you're one step up from just plain horny...lol. It means that you WANT the person, no matter what you have to do to get them. hope that helps!

With lust, you want their body. WIth love, you want who they are, and their body, but who they are as a person is what you mainly care about.

Lust means you want to hook up with them
Love means you want to lay in bed with each other and talk or watch tv or cuddle after hooking up with them
I think lusting for someone you are in love with is good (as with all things) in moderation. Frankly, it would be impossible to have a loving relationship with someone you didn't find sexually appealing.

Love is emotional, spiritual and has to do with the heart. Lust has to do getting your itch scratched and nothing extra.
