My 8 months old baby had apple sauce 3rd stage jar at around 4 o clock this afternoon and he has had 2 loose stools, one at 5:00 and another one at 8:30 PM since then. They are green in color. Yesterday i gave him green beans.

Are you wondering why he has them? or are you wanting to know how to quit them? or are you just announcing that his green beans have gone thru him?

Why he has them... the applesauce tends to cause them
How to quit them? suprisingly use a teaspoon of baby prunes.. (freeze the rest in an ice cube tray in one teaspoon sizes so the jar doesn't go to waste) and suprisingly that'll help loose stools
Just announcing he's passed his green beans.. lol.. well, that is a good thing..

First off u can feed a baby as young as they want to be fed, what I mean is that when a baby can take food off a spoon they are ready to eat. My dd was a little over a month old and was eating rice cereal and peaches. By the time she was 6 months old she was trying soft grown up food cuz she had teeth and wanted to feed herself. Not all babies are the same. Yes allergies can show up thats why u introduce one new food slowly and wait awhile.
Now b4 any one starts screaming my dd 11 and has no food allergies and is perfectly healthy also my mother in law worked in a nursery at a hospital and raised 3 kids so I value her opinion and WIC offered advice. My doc just told me to wait a certain period b4 adding new foods.
U will not rupture their intestines either by feeding them to soon.
Now to ur question sounds like the green beans got ur little one, not the applesauce.
Good luck

The green is probably from the beans. Apple sauce is full of fiber, and is probably to blame for the soft stools. Kids that age have a lot of soft stools, especially with being introduced to new foods. If the soft stools get really runny, call the doc. Are you breast feeding still? Or is the baby formula fed.. My kids had soy formula, and they had runny stools a lot.

8 months is kinds of early to be giving him 3rd stage food. Most doctors recommend keeping them on very simple foods like rice cereal and bananas for the first while. One color of food at a time, yellows then oranges, etc. to give their small systems time to adjust. Slow down a little. There is plenty of time to introduce new foods to him.

If all else fails, call your doctor.

Green beans, as are other vegetables good cleansers of the digestive system. I think this is the issue.
