is it fine to starve urself as long as u take vitamins and drink water?

Starving yourself is mental disease. You need counseling, not vitamins.

Actually, when you starve yourself two things happen very fast:

1) you lose what seems to be a lot of weight in a few days. Only thing is, it's really only water weight. So when it comes back on after you drink enough - you think you're gaining fat back and you freak out.

2) your body has like an internal treadmill, called a metabolism. Normally, it goes fast, and burns the calories you eat. But when you starve for a few days, it slows riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight down. So that a few calories will last longer.
Well it takes a real long time for it to pick up speed again - and I mean months. So then when you DO eat again (which you will, just like you will breathe again no matter how deturmined you are tohold your breath) even a little-regular bit of food (say, 2 meals) can make you GAIN weight right above what you were.

And you're still hungry!!

That's why people say, "don't starve, you'll wreck your metabolism". Several (6-8) small healthy meals/ snacks all day long, 30-40 mins of exercise a day, and no soda and you will lose plenty of weight without destroying your body.

In the end, you'll be thinner that way, healthier, and not sick.

Only stupid and clueless people starve themselves to lose weight. All you lose it lots of muscle and your fat gets stored. then when you start eating again, you just gain even more fat back. What's the point of doing that?

I had an eating disorder 10 years ago. Before I had this eating disorder, my hips were about 35/36 inches. Now 10 years later thay are 38/39 inches, but I'm still the same weight! So this is what starving does to you, it makes you fatter in the long run. You end up with more fat and less muscle. Now I need liposuction and am working out hard to build up my muscle again.

Just don't do it!

No it's not cool gal! Vitamins might B a good way 2 go along w/ food. U know me and I even disagree w/ that. Starving yourself is out of the Q! lol.... food S what U'r body wants more than vitamins and water alone. it thrives 4 more. I mean come on. takeing vitamins alone makes U look like a drugy and anarixious. I know, I know... I spelt that wrong... lol..... U'r gonna want some goodies, and it's unhealthy 2 eat it if you ate nothing but vitamins. It's ok to eat sweets if you ate a good meal. I hope your not plann'n on do'n that. I really hope that this S out of caroiusity and not because you want 2 try it.

DON'T DO IT!Trust me it isn't a very smart thing to do becuse I know I am a former anorexic(still have symptoms).I started starving myself and started to lose alot of weight so my doctor insisted I drink Boost plus(kinda like a milkshake with good source of vitammins).I was drinking it for a couple of months without eating and started to loose even more weight.Your body can not just live on vitamins alone and YOU GOTTA EAT,its the only way to nourish your body.I was walking around looking like a concentration camp victim almost about to
die and I was stuck in the hospital for two weeks.I am still skinny(not like before) and I am working very hard on gaining weight.Don't starve yourself because some diets lead to eating disorders and you don't want to deal with that.There are other ways to loose weight like execising or you can get a personal trainer to help you loose weight.

NO, NO, NO!!!
The fact that you are hungry means you need food. Vitamins are only the half of it. People are skinny, eat sensibly but most of us still need additional vitamins in our diets. You must eat. Just don;t eat junk. Fruits, veggies, protein, even fats. You need a bit of everything. You are doing yourself more harm than good. The effects of starving your body will show up in a few years. So right now you may think, hey, this is working I'm loosing weight and I'm okay but really you are not. Your body will make you pay later. BELIEVE ME. Talk to a professional please. Don't starve yourself.

what you do is this..get some vitamins..and eat 3 small meals a day have healthy snacks that are calorie free, like apples, or something, and exercise. Now days if you do this it is not good because it will cause more damage then it is worth, and also there is to many diseases women get from lack of something and it is just not worth the risk to cut out so much of your life

No and actually it won't help you loose weight. Your body freaks out and wants to hold on to any weight that it can. Additionally, the vitamins won't do anything because certain fats/proteins are neccessary to absorb the vitamins. Just eat healthy and exercise... its more effective and healthier.

NO! you will die from starvation and your body will give in. That is called an eating disorder and starving yourself is not a good way of losing weight. i have an eating disorder and when i was younger i wouldn't eat. i got so sick i couldn't even move. my body felt cripbled with pain all day long. it even hurt to cry. try to talk to a doctor or you can email me jesmaluc@aol.com if you wanna talk.

don't do it!!! if u wanna lose weight, just eat healthier!! If u starve urself, u will get very hungry & start to look like a zombie!!

No it isnt. Dont think you need to be super skinny to be something. You dont need to be! When I was in my teens my freind and I would do anything to loose weight and be skinny. I am now 30 and are overweight for my height but I am happy, healthy and ok. Yeah, I would love to be skinny and not have fat on my body but you can change how you are. Eat healthy foods and exercise daily. You can be skinny and enjoy food!
