why do people say that attending a church will get you to heaven? There is no church in heaven, right? Is there a signboard at the pearly gates that says, "Catholics Only" or etc?

There is no need for church in Heaven. Everything in Heaven is praising the Lord Almighty 24-7 so there is no need for church. Chuch is meant to be a gathering place for worship. If you're already in His presence, what do you need a gathering place for?

Who says attending church will get you into heaven? You can go to church all you want and not except Gods son as your personal Savior.
The Bible states that The Church is the Bride of Christ.

no church in heaven and the "people" that say church will get u to heaven aren't getting their shpiel straight. God says all are guilty through Adams disobedience. So the human race are sinners. God says the punishment for sin is death. He tells the woman that she will have a seed (Genesis 3:15), and only men have seed (semen) women have eggs, so she will have a seed that will crush satans head. Jesus took the punishment and through faith we are saved. Now, we must walk the talk, James said faith without works is dead. So Paul comes along and through inspiration of God writes that we should not give up the habit of meeting together (church) so that we may be encouraged! Church is good! Jesus is a God, and also good. We believe and are saved. Not to just say whoopee, but to go and make disciples. Get it...

No, after we bring heaven to earth there is no church because God will live with us. Attenting church is no requisite to go Home. Your body is your temple and we need to find God within us. This is quite a process that involves divorce of the ego-mind and the illusion of seperation from God when we still have ties to the world. When we burn all karmic ties we find our true selves and then the wedding takes place. The wedding of Jesus Christ to the Bride, the church talked about in revelation.
Then we regain our consiousness as now we are asleep ie. Christ consiousness and then we are free and God lives with us, no more tears in heaven Love finally comes first. God=Love Love=God.
Oh no need to die to go to heaven either.

Heaven is reserved for those who have repented, been baptized in Jesus Name, and been filled with the Holy Ghost. Attending church does not get you to Heaven. Obedience to the Word of God does.

I've never heard anyone say that. But if they do, they're wrong. People get into heaven by the grace of God, not by going to church.

The reason that ppl say that is because they need your donation in the collection plate. Numbers mean everything and a body in the pew is worth 2 in the temple.

I don't think that there is "Church" because church is a religion, but there is no "religion" in heaven.
