Jesus was probably married and there is evidence in the Gnostic Gospels, gospels of Thomas and Mary Magdelene and other suppressed gospels that he was married to Mary Magdelene. The Bishops of the early church decided which written accounts to include in the Bible at the first council at Nicaea 325AD and later they removed other accounts in later councils the most historic being the council at Trent 1545.

You ask "WHat was his purpose in dating if he knew he would die"
We all know that we will die, it doesn't seem to have prevented many people from dating.

I'm pretty sure Jesus didn't date anyone...Perhaps you should just hope that he didn't. And...moreover, Jesus didn't KNOW he was going to die, well he knew he would eventually, but don't we all know that we are going to die at some point?? Jesus was willing to die for what he believed was right, and I think we should honor that and leave the rest at peace.

At the time of his life, Jewish law dictated that a man must "go forth and populate the Earth." It was common practice for parents to ensure the marriage of their children by arranging them. It is reasonable to presume that Jesus was not only "dating," but was married. Anything less would have violated Jewish law and left his family scorned.

In my christian religion we believe that to reach the highest degree of glory one must be married. I assume that Jesus would have to have the highest degree of glory so I believe he was married. Also, Jesus was here on earth to show us the way, and to atone for our sins. I believe that part of showing us the way is by participating in all aspects of human life, also including marriage. Also, the texts of the church were "translated" and edited by cellibate clergy who might have wanted to portray Jesus as one might associate professional clergy.

No Jesus did not ever date anyone according to the scriptures. The second part of your question is vague and the first question will automatically answer the second part.
