Standalone DVD players are very finicky about what video file types it can play. DVD players support the MPG-2 format, which is the format used on DVD movies sold by the movie industry. However, other formats are not universally supported. Some DVD players support Cd's and MPG-4 format but not all. DVD drives on computers do not have this limitation. My suspicion is that you recorded your movie in a format not supported by your standalone DVD player.

when the DVD was authored using DVDit pro v.6 it is possible that the region was not set properly or that DVD files where not use correctly "vod", could be Divx DVD ,also check with another DVD player preferable a newer model if this disk dvdrw +or- or dual layer the ability to read all formats are usually available in newer models. if is in divx format you have to look for a DVD with divx capabilities or you can also get the software to convert from divx to DVD video files or "vod'.
good luck.

It sounds as if you need to recheck the script/license on this DVD again. If other DVD play OK then it is something in the DVD it is not the player.

it happened to me once. i think the reason is that you have copied the movie from a computer. which i believe is not supported by DVD player.choose the right option when you copy from computer.

Its probebly due to the lazer reader that reads the disks, I would tell you to take it to get it repaired but its cheaper to buy a new one. The computer can read it becuase that drive works.
