Check with the guidance or student affairs office. I went to City College in Chicago and made some great friends. There will be activities and clubs, so check those out. There may also be bulletin boards, online or others, that will have people looking for roomates and ect. You can also check the school paper or look for newspapers in the area. Be careful and have fun!

To begin with, most colleges and universities have housing offices, either formal ones or connected to the student center or dean of students office to help students with housing issues like roommates and finding suitable apartments. So call ahead. They may have a list of others like yourself who are looking for roommates.

In terms of getting yourself established on campus, join one or two clubs that interest you and make a commitment to attend their meetings, support their activities and work on projects. These people will be the basis of friendships that you will have for years and will help you feel at home and connected. Don't over due and join to many, but one or two should do the trick.

Roomates.com allows you to create a profile... If you're not opposed to meeting strangers... If you're a Christian, plus into a big church, it's always easy to find good roomates through church.
