I am planning to maybe go to Ireland this christmas and the prices arnt as cheap as I expected them to be in the winter. do you have any ideas for air lines/dates to go from Chicago to Shannon around the 25th to early jan. that would be the cheapest?

The cheapest I was able to find was on United Airlines. That was $508 RT with taxes. Check with British airways too, as they often have specials.

try not to go around xmas coz a lot of expats will be flying home then and drive the prices up. try later in december or early jan. aerlingus.com is our national carrier but offers the cheapest transtlantic flights according to wikipedia. expect to pay 180 dollars one way

try going to jetblue.com for this answer. i always go straight threw the airlines it is usually much cheaper than all the other airlines.
