Communities are very important. Havent you ever heard that it takes a village to raise a child? That saying is very true. As for what I do, I do volunteer work at the local pound and at a food bank. Christmas is my favorite time to do the food bank, we all have fun filling up the baskets and just being together doing good for the people that need help.

Communities are important, but only if they are a community of educated, well mannered, responsible people. Anything outside that, its not a community.
I do not participate in my community, I don't even talk or make eye contact with them. Why? Because they are nothing but white trash, uneducated, alcoholics, troublemakers and irresponsible home owners. Look at them wrong and you may find your car windows bashed in the next morning. What role is there to play in that kind of community?

Communities provide one with a sense of belonging. It provides a home base with familiar faces, friends, and ties that bind.

In my town, I give freely of my time by volunteering for community service. I volunteer time for teaching religious education and as a member of my church choir. I also volunteer weekly as a Eucharistic Adorer, member of the Padre Pio prayer group, and as cantor of the scriptural recitation of the rosary. I cannot put into words adequately the rewards and sense of well-being I have experienced from volunteering freely of my time. I may be the giver of my time, but the rewards I receive in return are unlike anything I have ever received in my entire life. Give the gift of yourself--and God will reward you tenfold.....
