You can't make your father like your boyfriend especially if you are under 18 and he is over, I know my dad would of flipped. But maybe they could spend time together and than your dad will see that he's a nice guy. Maybe they can find some common interests. My fiance and my father go fishing and they've really bonded.

I was 18 and my boyfriend (now husband) was 27. My dad found out his age from my mouthy little sister. Well, dad had all ready passed judgment and didn't like him. So, since he hadn't met him yet, I introduced him under another name. He really liked this new guy. He actually came to adore him. That's when I dropped the bomb that he was the older guy I had been dating all along.
Too late for him to say anything now. We were all hooked and really liked him.
so.... if your dad hasn't met him yet then introduce him to your boyfriend by calling him by another name. Good luck!

You grow up and show your dad that you are smart enough to make your own choices.
2 years older is huge when you are 14, but then you are 30 it is nothing at all.
Thus, if you are asking the question you are too young for the guy.

You cannot force anyone to like anyone, so if your dad doesn't allow you to date someone who is older than you, you are not allowed to. period, that's all. there, you cannot date him, sorry, you just have to find another guy to date. The only way for you to date a guy is if that guy is a little bit older than you, if you and your boyfriend are 5 year difference, then try to date someone who is 1 year difference or 2 year difference.

Break up with the old guy and start dating a Hell's Angel. Break up with the Hell's Angel and go back to the old guy. Your dad won't say a word.

That depends. How old are you? How old is he? The gap in age from say, a fourteen year old, probably a freshman in high school, and say, a nineteen, a freshman in college, is vast! I'd be very leery if my daughter (which I don't have) came home with a MAN for me to meet.

honey, take a good long look at your situation, and give your dad credit where credit is due, he may see something you don't, he has had more life experiences than you. Wish my dad would have been around to warn me of some of my mistakes before they happened.

I never was able to prove that to my old man, but if you continue to list the "positive" things about your man, maybe your father will see him as you see him. Other than that, you know who you love and parents will not always approve for whatever reason.
