Fragrant rice? Was it Jambayla maybe?

If you're looking for a fragrant rice I too would look for Jasmine or Jasmati. Not all grocery stores carry it but most do.

Look in your grocer for Jasmine rice.
May also be marketed as Jasmati.

It's an aromatic long grain rice grown in the United States.
