I think the J-Man would have dug the Dead, but mainly because he liked to smoke some hash!

He might.

The Dead (well Robert Hunter) were very moralistic.

"It's the same old story and I know you've been told
Some like Jelly Jelly
Some like Gold
Many a man's done a terrible thing
Just to buy, Baby a shiny dimond ring!"

"What good is shedding blood it does not grow a thing!"

"When I awoke, the Dire Wolf 600 pounds of Sin
Was grinning at my window, all I said was come on in,
but don't murder me, no I beg of you don't murder me.
Please don't murder me!"

"Talk about your petty, talk about you ills
One man gathers what another man spills!"

"It was later than I thought
When I first beleived you
Now I will not share your laughter
Ship of fools."

"Big Wheel turn by the grace of God.
Every time that wheel goes around
get a little bit older
cover a little more ground."

"Sometimes the light's all shining on me
Sometimes I can barely see
Lately it occurs to me
What a long...
strange trip it's been."

Jesus would have wanted the Grateful Dead to have a sense of timing and rhythm. The sloppy, half-tuned, droll strumming is a terrible sin. That is the problem with marijuana; it makes people think they sound better than they do.

He died on the cross because it was the will of God. The Bible doesn't say He did it gladly. I think He would prefer Casting Crowns.

YES! I love it. For all we know, The Grateful Dead were a group reincarnation to preach being grateful for death and having long hair, sandals and just being relaxed...
