Thank you for getting a pound puppy! That is so sweet that you want to do something special for his birthday.

Maybe get him a rawhide bone or a new toy. Give him some extra attention that day. Enjoy it together. Isn't that what birthdays are all about?

In any case, tell him "Happy Birthday" for me and I hope you all have a wonderful time!

Your dog won't want a birthday party... he's probably very happy right now to have a home, so that's already a presant for him. If his behavior is very good... espacially with other dogs try to find a dog park near you, it's lke an amusement park for them... he'll love it! make sure to take sometimes for him to get use to it because new experience can make him timit or shy around other dog. Make sure you can control your dog if he gets aggressive. Don't let him off the leash until you know he's friendly since you just got him a few days ago. Buy him a few toys, get a dog treat... don't buy too much because you don't know if he willl like it or not. Plays with him, if you're near by the beach... take him swimming. Oh! if he's a Bull type or muscle made type of breed, don't let him swim... he'll sink!!! His little legs can't hold up his weight. Well, that's about all I can think right now... have fun and don't forget to tell him happy birthday!!!

Hm... Well after you clip him and make him all pretty looking. You could go and invite friends over and make up games for them or for both the owner and dog. So then you can teach the dogs to obye the onwers better and have fun at the same time. Also don't forget doggy treats and fun food for the owners.

You could make a doggie cake out of different doggy foods that he can chow down. I made mine out of a couple of cans of we food, and put dog biscuit sprinkles and doggy bone candles. Dont use real candles, he might catch on fire! Then you can sing to him and give him presents. Let him tear them open and play with them. And then play party games like bobbing for dog treats and tug of war and tag and pin the tail on the dog!

You should buy him a doggy shirt :D (he may try to rip it off @ 1st though) but a squeaky toy or a bone would also do. And have a bunch of your friends bring their dogs come over too! Happy Birthday to your dog! :D

For my dog's first birthday party we had a cookout & invited all of our friends with dogs. They all brought her a present. We served all of the dogs Dogsters frozen doggie ice cream.

For her second birthday we ordered a cake from the doggie bakery. It was a venison cake with pink creamcheese frosting and rawhide "candles". All of her dog friends came and brought her presents.

I always order her really good treats for her birthday from http://www.petextras.com

Enjoy your new dog!

You shouldn't make a huge party or the pup will get scared and overwhelmed. But invite a couple friends and their dogs over, and it will be nice and quiet and also it is very fun. I did it for my doggs party!
