In Canberra, Australia scientists are trying to develop an oral contraceptive for kangaroos as a humane way to keep the population down. They hope to have the contraceptive available in two - five years.
Many, don't agree with oral contraceptives being used with human beings. It is interference with the natural order of things? What is your opinion on this?

Helluva lot better than shooting them... the population needs to be controlled somehow, that is certainly more humane than alot of ways. I am all for any type of contraceptive, human or animal. Good way to take some responsibility and help control unwanted pregnancies, and the consequences.
BTW, the dude that quoted Monty Python kicks ***!

I live in rural australia and roo's are a problem. Roo shooters might lose a bit of business but they can't keep up anyway. As for humans how many of these so called people against contraception are men supprting 13 kids? It is the year 2006. I knew some girls who were against the pill "because it ruined the body" Abortions and unwanted pregnancy's would be a lot more harmful.(Ha they are all on contraception now)

Yes, I oppose the use of oral contraceptives with kangaroos.
They should be handing out condoms instead. Although getting the kangaroos to use them consistently might be tricky.

I wholeheartedly condone the use of any form of contraceptives. It's MUCH better than having unwanted children get lost in the system.

No. In fact, I agree with oral contraceptives in all instances, especially if it's to prevent overpopulation.

i think that oral contraceptives are fine to use in any case where population control is desired.
as far as people go it sure is a heck of a lot better than abortion.
i knew someone once who said that use of contraceptives were against her religion. so she would regularly get preg. then she would have abortions. :O something wrong with that logic.

oral contraceptives in humans do more than just prevent pregnancy. In younger girls, teens, and in young women it is used to regulate their cycles and to help with their acne problems.
Plus, they are much, much safer than abortions...
The natural order of things gets out of control, but also is it not the natural order of man to control others? (I mean mankind, not men)

well I say that if you are being supported by any type of government aid...which by the was comes from hard working peoples tax dollars(I was a single mom and worked 2 jobs and NEVER accepted a dime from the gov) b4 they are allowed to get food stamps and any type of government aid they need to stand in a line and receive a depo shot first. so to answer the question I am for the "interference"

They have been doing this sort of thing since the 16th century
They introduced Mixamatosis (sp) into England to curb the rabbit population...it absolutely decimated it
