How does that relate to religion in your opinion?

Thank you, Count Korzibsky! The map is indeed not the territory. Religions are maps that particular groups of individuals agree most closely reflect their own personal experience of divine reality. If a person (regardless of their tradition) is somewhat awake, he/she will recognize that their system of practise and belief is simply that: a map that bears little or no resemblance to the Thing it portrays. Literalists of ANY kind have made the fatal error of mistaking the map for the territory and believing that all other maps are wrong, outdated, or even purposefully designed to mislead the unwary.

The map is NOT the territory, and that is why it is ludicrous to take the Bible literally and think you can follow it word for word and find peace and life. When taken literally, it leads to death and destruction....On the flip side, I think is has much spiritual value.

The way I live my life is to follow the peace in my heart to where ever it leads.....No map necessary.

Yes.

Many people confuse the editorial cartoon image of God for the real thing.
