Dove sucks. If you have really rough (coarse?) or dry hair, try something a little stronger. If you are sticking with the off-the-shelf brands, I recommend Garnier Fructis Sleek N Shine products. In general look for products with dimethicone or silicone. These ingredients make your hair soft and shiny and help flyaways stay down. Beware though, too much of these "cones" can cause buildup in your hair. Use a clarifying shampoo once a week (the Pantene Pro-V clear comes to mind as a good one) to strip out any buildup.

If you do not use a good conditioner regularly, you probably just need to do that and make sure you rinse your hair well.
Another thing you might try is a hot oil treatment. You can get them in the health & beauty part of any drug store. Follow instructions per package. This really usually does a good job.
There are several different brands and they all work pretty well, but I always thought the "VO 5" was alittle better. Good luck to you.

Mebbe she'sblessed with it (or lying about dove its the crappiest shampoo around). But you can use good professional products like BED HEAD by TIGI. Use the oatmeal shampoo AND treatment. Always use a conditioner. Comb through and leave for 2-3 minutes.
Use a shine spray to add shine and condition hair.

A lot depends on what hair type you have and which shampoo and conditioner you use.
The Dove in the dark blue bottles is the most conditioning, but if your hair is quite fine (like mine) it'll leave your hair limp. I use the one for normal hair and it's great, but my sister will only use the dark blue- the one for normal hair isn't strong enough for her.
Use the shampoo and conditioner for more softness.
I'd also recommend blow drying your hair to make it look smoother- again it makes a big difference with mine. It can be damaging to your hair to blow dry every day, but it'll make it look fab!

NO NO NO! They have it all wrong. try using either Biosilk or Cowboy Magic. Put a dime sized amount on your hand and run it through your wet hair. You won't be disappointed. You can buy a big bottle of biosilk at costco for like 12.00 or so. GOOD LUCK!
