The apostles all thought that Jesus was going to come "soon" and so do the majority of Christians today. If you read old sermons, every Christian writer thinks Jesus is coming soon. This is bs and Christians should see this, but they don't. I even think Jesus himself said he was coming soon. Since he hasn't come yet, it's that just one more piece of evidence that makes Christianity wrong?

Jesus didn't fulfill all of the prophesies. He was supposed to overturn the government and such, so after he died his followers concluded that Jesus was "coming back." The first Jesus followers thought that he was coming back "soon," and so the New Testament has to be read in that context. However, they were wrong, and Jesus didn't come back. Most Christians don't notice this, or they feel they are very special and they must be the last generation.

Soon to God may not be soon to us. Think about it, someone who has been around since the beginning of time has a different view on time than humans do. Every generation is preparing for the Return of Christ because we don't know when he will return. You are misjudging the word SOON.

No one knows when he will return and no Christian past or present knows exactly when he will return otherwise it would be pointless to suprise us.

42"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Israel

It was written that in the last days, Israel would become a nation again. That happened in 1948. So, our generation is the one that will see the end. Do some research on "The Fig Tree Prophecy" and it will explain it from the Jewish perspective in which it was spoken of in The Bible. That fig tree is Israel and the Apostles understood what Christ meant by it.

Because the world has been getting more corrupt and evil with each passing generation...and now with each passing day. BTW God isn't on our time table, to Him 1000 years is like a day. He'll come back when He's good and ready. Maybe He's waiting for morons like you to get your head out and see the light.

It is a doctrine in the Bible called "immanency" Jesus taught us to live each day as if He was coming back that day and always be ready. Christians will continue to do that even if Christ doesn't return for another 1000 years or more.

The word "soon" is a relative word. We don't know what "soon" is being compared to. Everyone would like to think Jesus will come back in their lifetime because we don't want to experience death----and it would be a pretty cool experience. But the truth is that no one actually knows for sure---and God wants it that way.

well in the bible it says that jesus is comeing back soon and we shouldn't assume that there will be a tomorrow. it also states in the bible signs of the end times and alot of them have come true and are comeing true right now. who says that jesus couldn't come back right now? it is possible. i hope and pray that one day you will get to feel the joy and peace of living for christ, because it is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't mean Christianity is wrong. Just be ready. I'll meet with him someday. Either here or Heaven, that will be entirely up to him.

Christians believe lots of stupid things. I wouldn't even put this one in the top 10! (I would put in the top 10, however, the notion that Professional Wrestling is real!)

On the cosmic scale, Jesus could show up in the 30000 (yea, that's not a typo) and that would still be "soon"
