Hello yeah I am in the middle of replacing this Coolant By-Pass Tubing, and I am ready to remove it when I find the Pipe Hanger is connected by a Little Fake Nut thing, what is this Fake Nut Thing? How do I remove it, this little Fake Nut Thing is also hanging up a sensor, so breaking it is out.
Thanks 4 ur Help

OK this little fake nut is on the firewall and it is holding my pipe hanger/bracket and a sensor in place it is a little metal nut-like thing (but not a nut). This nut has no threaded bold, it is on a threadless shaft, almost like a Rivot?

just use your fake wrench of the proper size and you'll be just fine.

I have installed many by pass hoses, I don't remember a fake nut. Where on the motor is it located and what kind of sensor is it. How do you know it is a fake nut as well. Is it metal or plastic.
Update- If it is a push on metal washer then pry it off with a screwdriver. If you just removing the hose why don't you just pull it off the hanger?

I am trying to place what you are talking about, but I'm going to need a better description of where this thing is located under the hood.

Update: Is it almost like a thin flat metal washer with slits cut in it? That is the only kind of retainer I can think of. They use these to slide up onto rods and such. If this is what it is, you can try to put a screwdriver behind it and pry it little by little working from each side, but they usually get tighter when you try to take them off, that is the way they are made. I usually have to take a pair of wire cutters and just cut the side of it and take it off.
