My therapist has just put me on Lexapro (anxiety and depression). Is anyone on it that can tell me if/how it's helped them?

i have been on for about 5 weeks. i was on cymbalta before that and cymbalta's side effects were horrible. i haven't experienced any side effects from lexapro. i was put on for anxiety and depression. the anxiety is pretty much gone, but the depression is still there...i'm going to see how it goes. i was on celexa awhile ago (which is similar to lexapro) and it really worked. good luck!

It for a little while, then it sort of wore off and I went on CCymbalta...much better! Everyone is different in how the will react to medications. just give it a chance and if it doesn't seem to help after a month or so, talk to the doc again. ( anti-depressants take a few weeks to really get in your system and start working)

Lexapro caused major sexual side effects. I like Effexor XR much better - also helps with pain but better than cymbalta for GAD and depression.

I am Bipolar and on Lexipro. I have been on it for about two years now. For me it has been a miracle drug for depression. I still get a little bit blue sometimes but it has been the only drug that I have been on and I have been on a lot that has worked for me. Try it, it works different on all people but it is great for me.
