I totally used to think of it as a general book-even though I have always been a Christian--however lately I have prayed for God to open my heart to His word and speak to me and I find treasures in it every day that speak to me personally!

FACT: Bible means "book of stories" in hebrew. The bible is not just for christians. It is for anyone who wants to believe in the ancients. Or to simply read about history. Christians claimed it as thier holy book, but over 900 pages had nothing to do with jesus. I read the bible and I am not a christian. It was just good to read. And after reading it, I noticed most christians have not even read it and realised they learn from another man and not themselves. The priests and deacons. PEACE!

I believe that it is a general book, or compilation of books, aimed at instruction for God's children--adopted, obviously. But that He can also use the medium of those words to reveal messages particular to your situation or your questions or doubts. Thus, I guess the answer would be 'both of the above.'
Bear in mind that it's His ball, His ballpark, and His game. He can do anything He wants, regardless of what anyone thinks.

It is a personal book that should be interprted on ones own. When i read the book the feeling that i recieve, would probably differ from yours but the general underlined message would be the same.

Both! It is made up of 66 books and are all written to different people and under different circumstances. Some are very personal, and others are very general. Something for everyone - you shoud read it.

well i cant help but wonder, what if its just like "the war of the worlds" where all those listeners thought it was real because there was no disclaimer saying it was fiction? what if the bible is on of the first fiction novels?
