I just had my 4 year old Golden neutered and there is still a lot of skin left over and hanging. Is this normal and will it go down or stay like it is which is kind of unsightly.

It is perfectly normal. The skin left is the scrotum...this will shrink down in time. The vet removes the testicles and leaves the scrotum. You may see the scrotum swell up in the next day or two (may actually look like he still has testicles)...if you see this, call the vet...your dog may have developed an infection.

Well, if the dog was neutered BEFORE the testicles were large, there would be less skin. There will be shrinkage of the sack, but there still may be some that dangles. Thank god he has a coat.

We had the same thing happen with our dog after neutering. It will go away with time.
