Assuming that this is hypothetical, I never understood myself why criminals just didn't burn their evidence. There's not much left after you burn and grind something into the dust. I would think.

Well the first thing I would not do is post a question like that on the internet. It is locked in your computer and teh FBI will confiscate it and arrest you.
Now the first part of your question, since everyone else is afraid to answer.
I would have a month dedicated to them, enlist all of their friends to celibrate them and each day make sure that tehy receive at least three to five gifts, cards, flowers, etc. This will kill them with kindness.

You would get caught if not by the police, but your conscience. You would also get "caught" by Jesus Christ. He sees and knows all. You may get some sort of gratification, but you will burn in hell.
If you have a desire to kill you need to get in an anger management class.
Most interviews of people on death row show the killer bragged about it to relieve their stress over it, and the person they told turned them in!
You will get caught one way or the other man.
