Possum needs a richly-flavoured wine, so a hearty Red would be best, maybe a Burgundy or a cheap Merlot.

Moonshine.. or something that looks like it.
Real moonshine can have methanol in it, and make you sick, blind, or both. I dont think most girls are interested in drinks that taste like turpentine no matter how drunk it gets them.
You might try a clear, fruitier, drink. You could get an apple pucker and re-bottle it in a prohibition looking bottle or even a mason jar, and call it moonshine.

I would prefer a Guinness but on special dinner, I would tolerate wine. I prefer the ones that have a cork instead of just a screw top.

I like Champipple.
A nice mix of Cold Duck and Ripple.
If it's not the right color, just add some food coloring or a little oxyclean if it needs lightning up.
