Reduce the milk by a tablespoon and add a tablespoon of butter. Real butter, not margarine!

If you are looking for liquid amount, well, it is the same. If you are looking for richness, then there is a difference. Half and half has more fat content, thus the richer, creamer and thicker look, feel, and taste. You can't really replace that. The closest you can get is to use a 'whole' milk versus a skim, 1%, or 2% type milk.

you would use the same amount of milk for a recipe. if you use more the end result will be runny. you can use milk instead of 1/2 &1/2 the result just won't be as rich and a little less creamy.

maybe 1-cup and a 1/2 of milk you know half and half is very heavy....
