as she was still the legal wife of this person she MUST get legal advice at once, get a lawyer to write to the family if he died without a will then pretty much everything should come to her, but this MIGHT be different if they where legally separated.......
But really she must get legal advice, if she can not afford it go to courts....often there are low low cost lawyers or ones that work for free depending on the case..........just a question but does she have kids with this man??? If she does she needs to RUN to a lawyer.

Defining word here is 'husband'. If they were married, get an attorney involved NOW.

Damn..Sorry to hear that...all she has to do is call the DMV they have records of all accidents..or even the police dept..they will know the insurnace...Good luck
