I have always thought that it is not fitting for a prophet to kill anyone, neverthless I read a story that prophet Muhammed killed some people who left Islam. He cut their hands, their legs, punched their eyes and threw them in the desert until they died of heat, hunger and pain.
The weird thing is that there is a verse in Quran [5:33] that describes what prophet Muhammed did and approves it. Can someone kill people in such horrific way and still be a prophet?

This applies to war....at war ...thats what goes on....in the battlefield...people kill each other.
The part where you say that Prophet Muhammad(PBHU) cut their hands and legs etc. is 100% not true.
Reread that verse again ...it does NOT describe what he did and what he approved......the Quran is the word of God and what He says here is that the punishment for those who "wage war against Allah and His Messenger" is as mentioned. It does not say that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did it.
The Prophet (PBUH) never killed anyone in a horrific way. The only people killed by him was at a battlefield.....where it is permitted to kill people when fighting for your religion and God. To kill at a battlefield is not to murder.
When you say that it is unfit for a prophet to kill anyone.....Prophet Moses murdered someone....that was a major sin on his part.

Dear Asker, Peace on you. Prophet Muhammed PBUH did not order the killing of dogs. In fact, Islam disallows animal cruelty. Islam orders its followers to be kind to nature, including animals, which also includes pigs and dogs. If animals are in pain or hungry, we must feed them and Allah will reward us greatly. Yes, Muhammad was a mass murderer and committed many, many horrid crimes. For this reason he was poisoned. He raped people, molested little boys, killed many people, invaded and stole their land and property, he prayed to Allah as a lord of devils, he enslaved people, - he was truly evil. Anyone who denies this is calling the Koran a book of lies. Read the Hadith yourself where the witness account of Muhammed's life is clearly explained. There you will find so many murders, raids, crimes of Muhammad. Muhammad was the most evil man in human history.

The story you read is false. There is nothing like that in the history of the Prophet Muhammad.
The Prophet also never beheaded anyone as Brady J suggested. This story is also false, and beheaded is prohibited in Islam.

Well, as I recall Moses was a prophet and he killed the Egyptian overseer. As a matter of fact the Israelites were afraid of him because of this.

Yes he did you can watch it on the History channel. Also he had many tribes of Isreal killed. He had the heads of the men cut off and sold the women and children for slaves.

i never heard that Muhammed tortured anyone. he is EXTAMLY kind to alllllll ppl.
when s.o. treated him bad, he respond wit love.
